NEW YORK — New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese said Thursday that the New York football team has agreed to trade quarterback Matt Cassels to Tampa, a team spokesman said.
The Giants also have agreed to a trade of receiver Sterling Shepard, the team said.
Reese said he expects Shepard to return to the Giants.
Shepard has a history of concussions and will likely miss the entire season.
He is not scheduled to be re-signed.
Reese also said the team has traded quarterback Marcus Mariota to Arizona for a fifth-rounder and a sixth-rounder.
The deal is expected to be completed by Friday afternoon.
Mariota is the second quarterback taken in the first round in the past decade to be traded.
The Jets signed him as a free agent last offseason.
